Processing of the Wireless Transaction Set (TS) at the Miami meeting of the ASC X12 organization October 1-4:

On Monday October 1st, the draft Wireless TS and Project Proposal were discussed, and there were some minor changes made (conforming Proposal language to ASC X12 design and the like), and also certain changes made to the TS itself. This was done in order to make it more usable as EDI, by allowing multiple address inquiries within a single transaction. (The revised transaction set will be updated on this site later.) With the changes, the proposal was approved by the X12 Government Subcommittee on Wednesday October 3rd.

Again, these changes are not considered to be at all in contravention of any aim of the TS or the Wireless Task Group, rather it was agreed that they will help ensure a "smoother ride" during the X12 Technical Assessment Review (in December) and the expected balloting process (following the February 2002 X12 Trimester meeting).

The WTG will discuss the revised TS during a call on October 25th at 3 pm EST. Call-in details will be provided by Elliott Dubin of MTC ([email protected]). In addition, prior to the call a smaller WTC group will discuss conforming changes to the "proprietary" Wireless data format version so that we can distribute and discuss that also.
